WHAT IS VOLANTHROPY?

Volanthropy is a mobile application designed to create a single platform for potential volunteers to easily access opportunities, as well as providing a platform for nonprofits to recruit volunteers outside of their website.The goal of this project was not only to create a useful platform for people to help their community, but to design an app that is more appealing and visually unique than similar concepts. A more organic logo has been created to balance the grid-format of the app, as well as more muted and pastel colors.

MISSION

Eliminate the inconvenience of finding volunteer opportunities and vice versa; the struggle to find volunteers for your organization.

SOLUTION

Volanthropy, a mobile app that will provide a common interface to find volunteer opportunities or to easily find volunteers for your cause.

User research was conducted in the Louisville community among those who take part in volunteering, whether it be for required service hours in Greek life, or simply because they enjoy giving their time to the community.

A study was also done timing users as they search for volunteer opportunities online. Results found that it is inconvenient to jump from website to website in order to find the opportunity that best fits you.

The highlight of this application is its double edged function. Volunteers can search for opportunities while non-profits can recruit volunteers interested in their type of services. The setup is made to be inviting and positive, as the goal of this app is to increase volunteer involvement.
